FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI (APD) PADA PEKERJA DI BAGIAN PENGANTONGAN DAN PENYIMPANAN UREA (PPU) ¾ PT. PUSRI PALEMBANG

Abstract


Background : Using sophisticated technology can give easiness in production and increase productivity but it can cause bad accident risk and occupational diseases. The control by elimination, substitution, technical, administration and using personal protective equipment (PPE) are the efort that use to prevent accident and occupational diseases. Prevention with broke of or decrase accident and occupational diseases is the best way but sometimes it is difficult to do, so that why we used PPE.

Method : This research used cross sectional design. The data was worked and show in distribution frequency table and analysed analyticly with used chi square test. This research has done to 81 employees in bagging and urea storage ¾ in Pusri company Palembang which intent on to know factors which related with using PPE.

Result : From analysis result of chi square test knew that there is a relation between age with using PPE (P value 0,05), there is no relation between education with using PPE (P value 1,000), there is a relation between knowledge with using PPE (P value 0,002), there is no relation between attitude with using PPE (P value 1,000) and there is a relation work time with using PPE (P value 0,01).

Conclusion : Raising of control in using PPE at employee and give more doubt to the employee who do not use PPE. Give examinition about PPE to each employee so they will know the benefit of  PPE. Provide PPE as the number of needed.
