THE DEVELOPMENT OF SYLLABUS AND SET OF LEARNING IN PRACTICAL PERMANENT TOOTH EXTRACTION AT POLYTECHNIC COURSES OF DENTAL HEALTH PALEMBANG

Abstract


Background: The Aims of this study is to examine the validity, practically, knowledge and skills of students based on the Syllabus and Set of Learning in practical permanent tooth extraction.

Method: This research is development research. Subjects of this study are Syllabus and Set of Learning in practical permanent tooth extraction at Polytechnic Courses of Dental Health for semester four students year 2010 / 2011 as many as twenty five students. Then Syllabus and SAP were developed through the seven steps according to the Taba curriculum development that are diagnostic needs, formulation of the main points, selection of content, organization of content, selection of learning experiences, organization of learning experience, and determination of what should be evaluated and how to do it. Then the data were tested on the validity and practically also self-assessment of knowledge and skills of student in practical permanent tooth extraction.

Result: From the results of research known that the Sylabus and SAP are valid (4,84), practically, the average value of student knowledge (cognitive aspec) is 84,4%, the average value of student skill by psycomotoryc aspect is 84,4% and by affective aspect is 86,2%.

Conclussion: Through the results of the research that the Sylabus and Set of Learning are feasible to use both for the lecturer and the students because the validity, practically and potensial effect here been tested for the knowledge and skill of students in practical permanent tooth extraction.
