STANDBY VILLAGE AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT OF DISASTER

Abstract


Indonesia has many disaster-prone areas, whether natural disasters or disasters caused by human activity. Disasters can be caused by several factors such as geography, geology, climate and other factors such as social diversity, cultural and political. Event of disasters in Indonesia continued to increase from year to year. The impact of disasters will affect the public health aspects.

One of the strategies being developed in creating a Healthy Indonesia is through the development of standby village. Standby village is a village that has the readiness resources, ability and willingness to prevent and overcome health problems, disasters and emergency health care independently. Core activity is to empower community to be willing and able to live healthy. Therefore, the development steps need educational approach, which is facilitating the community to undergo a process of learning such as problem-solving process of health problems.

Standby village program is one answer to make the community able to handle in disaster preparedness and health emergency independently.
