RISK FACTORS OF MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS (MSDs) COMPLAINTS ON RICE TRANSPORTATION ACTIVITIES AT PT. BUYUNG POETRA PANGAN PEGAYUT OGAN ILIR

Abstract


Background: Activity of rice transportation at PT Buyung Poetra Pangan was done manually and used repeatedly with a heavy load that can lead to complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Preliminary observations by questionnaire Nordic Body Map obtained 8 out of 10 workers had complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) complaint on rice transport activity at PT Buyung Poetra Pangan.

Method: The design of this study used cross sectional approach. The population studied were the entire workers on rice transport at PT Buyung Poetra pangan, total sample of 70 respondent selected by purposive sampling. Collection data with interviews used a questionnaire respondent characteristics, Nordic Body Map and taking pictures for analysis by REBA method. Statistical analysis using Chi-Square test and logistic regression.

Results: The results showed that risk factors of age (ρ=0,002) and duration of work (ρ=0,033) have a significant relationship to the complaint of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), while BMI, smoking habits, length of work, the load transported and ergonomic risk levels are not related. The load transported the most dominant as risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) complaint.

Conclusion: The load transported the most dominant as risk factors of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) complaint.
